We are nestled in the heart of the Black Mountains, in the Brecon Beacon’s National Park. The building has been here for centuries and was originally called “The Half Way Inn”, as it was a coaching stop for travellers between London and the Welsh coast.
One of the first projects at The Kestrel Inn was to create two new guest rooms and a staircase. We have a double room and a twin room which can be made a double.

Stayed in the area for over a week and found the best food and drink here. Owners were so pleasant and personable while professional ... Would come back to the area just to stop at the Kestrel for dinner ...the lamb tangine (lamb raised in the field right over there was so carefully flavored and balanced, the fish and chips may have been the best I ever had, even the side's were matched and prepared perfectly, and got a great education on Real Ales . A bit of a french influence on the decor and food that only added to the ambiance ...

Stopped off twice; on way up and back from Aberystwyth. This small friendly roadside pub is conveniently located and in a beautiful valley. The food, drink and staff are great.
Covid-19 Notice
Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, we will only be operating the Bed and Breakfast for the foreseeable future. We have 2 en suite rooms only and we have split the dining room into 2 private zones for eating and relaxing on your own sofa.
